General Thoughts / Observations
Low winds allowed for an easy launch. Using no ribbon for strain relief, the top leg of the Tx antenna was taped directly to the balloon. I launched the balloon, then walked with the tracker in my hand until it was taken by the balloon. The WSPR signals started within minutes, and continued steadily. The flight ended when the balloon met a strong storm system.
This was my third WSPR flight, and it went well. No ribbon, just taped antenna to the balloon. Signals started right away and there were plenty of them. The folded spooling is not needed if you tape to the balloon at the launch site.
Thoughts for next time
If not using ribbon, try using round plastic spools to prevent any kinking from cardboard spools.
